I’m in love with Cagwait!

I can’t believe i’m living at a place where there’s lots of breathtaking places to visit (and i’ve seen just around 30% of it all what a shame!)

We’ve always wanted to go but we were always too busy, didn’t have the time, & blah blah blah until one day we just decided to go coz Kata’s birthday was coming up and we all wanted to do something different.   When we got there we were so happy that we almost had the whole beach to ourselves! It was so beautiful & peaceful, the sand was fine and gold-ish white, & the water was so clean and clear.  We stayed at this place called Lolinghayaw Beach Resort, the first resort you’ll find once you get there.  (upon surveying all the resorts this place looked the most appealing to us & our friends recommended it as well).

Some videos we took for fun:

Cost:

Cottage : Php 150

Cooking Charges: Php 90/Dish and we had 3 so Kata spent a total of P420 for the whole day trip.  We brought rice & fish, meat, hotdogs, drinks, & (sorry hehe) junk food.

Overall it was a 10/10 experience, the place was gorgeous, we had fun, and i haven’t felt so relaxed and stress-free in months!  Can’t wait to go back.  ❤

Have you been to any good beaches lately?   I’d love to hear about it.

xoxo!

P.S.

Photos are a mix of Iphone 4s, Samsung S5, & Canon 550d.

friday afternoon / masskara 2013

it was such a gorgeous day out that we decided to go strolling at Lacson Street (aka Bacolod’s Main Street) Friday afternoon, while everyone was preparing for the weekend’s festivities.

Every Teardrop is a Waterfall

Do you see what I did there?

I love her expression on the 2nd (right) photo so I just switched it up.   Then I added vignettes, adjusted the colors (through curves – mostly less red, less yellow and less magenta) then I did the same with color balance.  I hope this helps! :))

Anyway, I know I already posted a similar photo earlier (this:)

Don’t get me wrong, I love love love this one but originally my concept for this was to make a photo out of my favorite Coldplay song “every teardrop is a waterfall” and I liked the blue photo a little better.

So this song is basically about hardships, pain, & tragedies – that something good comes out of all of it.   Sometimes things might not work out the way we wanted it to but there’s always a bigger picture.  We will see that everything happens for a reason & something better will come along.

A lot has happened to me this year like having to leave the comforts of home and the people and things I love.   At first I resented all the changes – I told myself i’d stick it out for a few months then just go home.   But the longer I stayed here, the more I appreciated everything this place had to offer :  Freedom, friends, love, independence, family – everything.   I don’t know but it’s gonna take a lot for me to leave this place now.  I love my job, and everyday i’m trying to become better at what I do.  The loneliness, well at first I was so lonely my mom and dad would be like “would you please stop calling already?” haha no i’m kidding but it almost came to that.   But I met a few special people who have become my friends and family here, and instead of being the biggest hermit in the world I opened myself up to people, which is actually quite big (considering).

I may be alone but i’m never lonely anymore 🙂

I have my own place (which I totally love) and I can do anything I want anytime I want.

I was just hanging out, sipping my coffee & I realized how contented I am with everything now and that I’m actually happier than I’ve been in a long time.

Am I rambling too much again?

🙂

anyway, thanks for visiting! i’ll see you guys soon.

hugs & kisses ❤ ❤ ❤

P.S.

Lois & Clarissa Campos made this video. I love it!
I’ve been so busy since I moved to Mindanao that I haven’t had the chance to post photos from my first back to back photo exhibit last February. So here’s the video instead!

Again, thank you to everyone who made this happen. Dingding Hearts & Sanders Coffee & Sausages, our family and friends who helped us set up, to all the models, makeup artists and assistants, Clara Benin & Josh Gayanelo for the wonderful live performances, everyone who came to our opening and everyone who’s supported us since we first started out. Ugh I hate that we didn’t have any surfing photos! :((( But we loved it and in a perfect world i’d be a bum and just spend all day surfing

lol.

Anyway, Siargao is amazing and i’d like to share a few tips and links in case you’re planning a trip.
1) from dapa port to gen luna the habal habal ride costs php 200 and if you have a lot of stuff (like we did lol it’s kinda hard to ride a habal habal AND carry a duffel bag) a tricycle ride costs php 300.
2) aside from the resorts you’ll find online, there are hostels around cloud 9 that offer rooms for like Php 250-500. Only, I have no idea how the rooms are or what they look like.
3) the food at the resorts is quite expensive, but the servings are huge so we ended up ordering 2 dishes then we just share it.
4) nightlife : the locals say the acoustic nights during Thursdays at Buddha’s is nice as well as Friday nights at this place called the “Jungle Disco” haha. unfortunately we were so tired from staying out all day that we weren’t able to go to either one.
5) this is where we stayed : http://siargao-inn.com/en/
we loved it so much and our room was ff.ing amazing we kept oohing and aahing over everything especially their british bulldog Bruno! ❤ The owner, Rico, was very friendly and accommodating and the resort staff helped us organize our trips & activities and made our stay very comfy (esp Neneng, Dencio & Manilyn).

6) One hour is NOT enough to go surfing, lol.   we ended up staying for 2 hours at cloud 9 and we didn’t wana leave! but we had scheduled island hopping and a lot of other stuff for the day so…
7) anyway, if you have questions feel free to ask me! I’m no expert but i’d love to help you out ❤

8)  My sister Dianne took lots of photos on her film camera and you might want to check it out here :
